Responsibilities:
1. Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of taxed in compliance with Malaysia's tax regulation such as but not limited to corporate income tax, sales tax (SST), withholding tax, excise duty.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions and disclosures in line with local accounting standards.
- Liaise with external tax agents and regulatory authorities (e.g., LHDN, RMCD, MITI, Customs).
2. Tax Planning & Advisory
- Provide strategic tax advice to management on new business initiatives, cross-border transactions, and investments.
- Monitor changes in local tax regulations and assess business impact, ensuring compliance and readiness for regulatory changes.
- Advise on tax implications for manufacturing, import/export, transfer pricing, and wholesale distribution.
3. Transfer Pricing & Tax Support
- Manage transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with local transfer pricing guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with finance and operations teams to support tax efficiency in business processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CTIM are highly preferred.
- Minimum 3 - 5years of relevant tax experience, ideally with exposure to the automotive or manufacturing sector.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and regulations, including indirect tax (Sales Tax, Excise Duty), transfer pricing, and tax incentives.
- Experience in managing tax audits and dealing with the LHDN and RMCD.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting/tax software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
