About the Role
The Tax Manager is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with all tax regulations for Valiram Group.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory taxes (Corporate, WHT, SST, VAT, GST).
- Enhance tax processes through policy updates and automation.
- Conduct tax awareness training across departments.
- Regularly reconcile VAT/GST records with the general ledger.
- Implement tax projects aligning with the organization's goals.
- Strengthen cash flow by accurately estimating tax liabilities and maximizing tax credit offsets.
- Tax Compliance: Oversee direct and indirect tax payments, provisions, and returns.
- Project Support: Implement tax-related projects and transfer pricing initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Streamline tax filing procedures for efficiency.
- Audit Management: Handle tax audits, investigations, and inquiries.
- Tax Support: Provide guidance on direct and indirect tax matters.
- Technical Updates: Disseminate updates and coach team members.
- Tax Incentives: Apply for tax incentives and reliefs in coordination with departments.
- Authority Liaison: Communicate with tax authorities during audits and investigations.
- Ad Hoc Tasks: Manage additional tasks as required.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting.
- An appropriate professional qualification CPA / ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 8 years tax experience in a related field, gain either from a top-tier firm of accountants or from within a multinational group.
- Independent and creative thinking for tax planning, responsibility for a wide array of detailed compliance and financial reporting.
- Excellent quantitative skills, proficiency with Excel.
- Strong tax research, analytical and writing skills.
- Ability and flexibility to travel as and when required.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English.
