Role Overview
The Faculty of Engineering and Science invites applications for a Teaching Fellow / Senior Teaching Fellow in Mechatronics Engineering. The successful candidate will be involved in undergraduate teaching and supervision. This role also involves academic service, collegial engagement and external community collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Supervision
- Deliver high quality and engaging undergraduate teaching in face‑to‑face and online modes.
- Design, assess and provide timely feedback on student learning.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Service & Engagement
- Contribute to academic service at department and faculty levels.
- Demonstrate collegiality and effective teamwork.
- Engage with industry, professional bodies, and the wider community.
- Provide academic leadership appropriate to appointment level.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum, a Master's degree in Mechatronic or RoboticEngineering; with the bachelor degree in a relevant discipline such as Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
- The bachelor degree should be recognised by the Washington Accord signatory authorities of the respective countries.
- A registered member with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or Chartered Engineer certification from equivalent International Professional bodies or demonstrated the ability to meet the criteria for registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Demonstrated teaching experience at tertiary level.
Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated high teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery, with an emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
- Proficiency in online teaching tools and a strong understanding of pedagogical and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills with cross‑cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work effectively in a collegial, supportive academic environment.
