JOB SUMMARY
Drive execution of active co-ownership & engagement (ACE) initiatives across assigned portfolios by translating sector and company research insights into engagement strategies, integrating Value Creation Plan (VCP) development and monitoring, and aligning senior-level engagement with portfolio company management, boards, and nominee directors, to drive total shareholder return (TSR) improvement and support departmental objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive ACE initiatives across assigned companies, acting as EPF's shareholder representative with a focus on value creation.
- Govern performance monitoring across assigned portfolios by challenging monitoring assumptions and govern diagnostic frameworks, overseeing integration of sector and company research into portfolio engagement strategies, ensuring insights drive meaningful value creation outcomes and aligning internal stakeholders on engagement priorities across the portfolio.
- Challenge and align standards for financial analysis, valuation, and performance assessment across the team, ensuring outputs support high-quality engagement strategies and VCP formulation.
- Oversee engagement strategy formulation, translating strategic, governance, and ESG insights into prioritised engagement objectives across the assigned portfolio, in addition to representing EPF in engagements with senior management, nominee directors and key internal stakeholders to influence strategy, governance, and capital allocation decisions.
- Drive formulation and execution of VCP initiatives across assigned companies, translating engagement insights into actionable value creation priorities anchored on four levers: (i) capital structure optimisation and dividend discipline; (ii) strategy and performance uplift; (iii) transformative corporate actions; and (iv) ownership-led origination.
- Oversee team performance and capability development within the sub-team, providing coaching and quality oversight to junior and mid-level team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Pass in Bahasa Melayu, including the oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government from any local or overseas higher learning institution
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, ICAEW, etc are an added advantage
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in financial analysis, valuation, and corporate strategy assessment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven leadership ability with excellent communication and negotiation skills in managing both internal and external stakeholders
- Skilled in writing and presentations
- Ability to manage multipole workstreams and deliver under pressure
