Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall Data QA strategy, standards, and processes for regulatory reporting and other critical banking data domains within the Snowflake environment.
- Define test scope, objectives, and resource requirements for data testing projects.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with data quality and testing efforts.
- Lead the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts primarily using SQL within Snowflake.
- Manage the defect lifecycle, including identification, logging, tracking, root cause analysis, and verification of fixes.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data modelers, and developers to resolve data quality issues.
- Lead and mentor a team of Data QA analysts and engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven ability to write complex SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, validation, and analysis within Snowflake.
- Deep understanding of SQL window functions, CTEs, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Proven experience in data quality assurance, preferably within a Snowflake environment.
- Experience with UAT processes and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform ad hoc tasks effectively.
- Thorough understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity).
- Experience in applying data quality methodologies and frameworks.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of data governance and best practices in data management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of various QA methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and testing principles.
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira )
