Job Summary
The Technical Associate Drone & Robotics supports MRANTI's initiatives under MDTAP30, NRR30, and Area57 & Robotics Innovation Hub, providing technical expertise, operational support, and stakeholder engagement to advance Malaysia's drone ecosystem across sectors like agriculture, healthcare, delivery, and surveillance.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise and operational support for the implementation of drone-related initiatives under MDTAP30 and Area57.
- Assist in developing and evaluating technical requirements, flight operations plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPS) for pilot projects and ecosystem programs.
Ecosystem Development
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, regulators, innovators, companies, education providers to facilitate ecosystem-building initiatives.
- Support organizing workshops, demonstration sessions, training programs, and other initiatives under MDTAP30 and Area57 that showcase technology applications and capabilities.
- Support in organising events, programs and social media engagements related to drone technology.
Project Implementation
- Monitor and track progress of drone-related projects and initiatives under MDTAP30 and Area57, ensuring timelines, goals, and delivery are met.
- Prepare progress reports, technical documents, and relevant data to aid decision-making and policy development.
Compliance And Regulations
- Support adherence to Malaysian regulations and guidelines (such as CAAM, MCMC, SIRIM) for drone operations under MRANTI programs.
- Liaise with regulators and industry stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues related to compliance.
Technology Evaluation
- Provide technical input for evaluating innovations, prototypes, and solutions from innovators and companies participating in MRANTI programs.
- Support the assessment of technology readiness, capabilities, and potential applications for industry use particularly for MDTAP30 and Area57 initiatives.
Support For MDTAP30 Goals
- Contribute to the implementation of MDTAP30 initiatives to accelerate ecosystem growth, industry competitiveness, and technology commercialisation.
- Provide technical expertise to help execute key strategies under MDTAP30, such as developing industry standards, strengthening policy framework, and scaling up pilot projects.
Support For Area57 Innovation Hub
- Assist in the day-to-day technical operations and programs at MRANTI's Area57, a drone and robotics innovation hub.
- Provide technical oversight for companies, innovators, and innovators-in-residence at Area57, helping them to test, validate, and showcase their technologies in a real-world environment.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Department Lead or Manager.
Job Requirement
- Candidate should possess a Bachelor Degree, Diploma / Advanced Diploma, Professional Certificates or equivalent in Engineering (Aviation / Aeronautics / Astronautics),Engineering (Mechanical),Engineering (Others).
- Possess professional certifications in drone operations, drone maintenance or related technical fields will be an advantage.
- Preferably at least 3-5 years of related working experience in the drone industry, ecosystem or related technical roles.
- Experience in drone operations, maintenance, policy, or ecosystem development is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory framework and operational procedures (CAAM, MCMC & SIRIM)
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effective with stakeholders at all levels.
- Initiative, adaptability and problem-solving skills in a fast-changing environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow with the industry.
- Good communication skills in English, Malay language for both spoken and written
