Job Title: Technical Business Analyst (Insurance Domain)
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Client site travel may be required based on project demands)
Employment Type: 12 months and extendable contract role
Experience Level: 2 to 4+ years of experience as a Tech BA
Nationality Requirement: Open to MY Citizens Only
Language Preference: Mandarin speakers are highly preferred (Non-Mandarin speakers with strong domain experience will be considered)
About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, tech-savvy Junior to Mid-Level Technical Business Analyst to sit between our business stakeholders and technical execution teams. This role goes beyond standard requirement gathering—you will need a solid insurance background to deeply understand business workflows, alongside enough technical grit (like basic SQL and software architecture knowledge) to speak the same language as our developers.
If you excel at drafting Functional Specification Documents (FSD), managing stakeholder expectations, and assisting with project timelines, this is the perfect opportunity to scale your career in the insurance-tech ecosystem.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate directly with key stakeholders to identify business needs, pain points, and core objectives. Conduct workshops, structured interviews, and surveys to document detailed process workflows and system interactions.
Solution Design & Documentation: Translate complex business requirements into clear, comprehensive Functional Specification Documents (FSD), use cases, user stories, and wireframes. Partner with technical teams to ensure proposed designs align with business goals.
Stakeholder Management & PM Support: Act as the primary liaison between business units, technical resources, and project managers. Manage expectations across the project lifecycle, prepare project timelines, and assist the PM with general project management deliverables.
Testing & QA Support: Collaborate with QA teams to develop test plans, cases, and scenarios. Actively participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that delivery matches original business specifications, identifying and tracking defects to resolution.
Change Management: Assist with post-implementation support, prepare user training materials, and conduct training sessions to ensure smooth system adoption.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education: University degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Experience: 2 to 4+ years of dedicated Business Analyst experience, leaning heavily into a technical or software delivery environment.
Domain Knowledge (A MUST): At least 2+ years of exposure within the Insurance domain, with a strong preference for candidates who have specific functional knowledge of Insurance Claims processing.
Technical Background: Basic hands-on technical understanding, including SQL queries and software development lifecycle (SDLC) models, enabling smooth communication with technical developers.
Language Skill: Proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred to support specific stakeholder groups; however, non-Mandarin speakers with exceptional insurance BA experience are welcome to apply.
Nice-to-Have Preference:
Direct hands-on experience or familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 CRM) is a significant plus, though not mandatory.
Why Apply
Strategic Exposure: Gain hands-on exposure assisting with project management, tracking timelines, and shaping end-to-end delivery frameworks.
Dynamic Environment: Join a team that values both technical acumen and functional domain expertise.
