We are looking for a 'Technical Manager' to lead and manage the daily operations of our roll grinding workshop. This role ensures all activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production specifications, schedules, cost targets, and quality standards. You will also be responsible for production planning and service delivery within the workshop.

Your Key Roles Are

  • Lead and supervise production technicians and operators to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Ensure efficient and responsible use of company assets.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices in compliance with local occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee machining operations for rolls and other equipment.
  • Operate and maintain workshop machinery in reliable condition.
  • Adhere to Valmets quality, safety, environmental, and management systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve daily operational issues.
  • Plan and prepare production activities and manufacturing instructions.
  • Manage internal and external parts/material orders.
  • Support mechanical disassembly and assembly work.
  • Perform and validate inspection, service, and roll grinding reports.

Requirements

  • Technical Certificate or higher in Engineering or Technical fields (e.g., Production, Mechanical, Electrical).
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating workshop machinery (lathe, grinding, milling).
  • Physically strong and comfortable with hands-on work.
  • Familiarity with mechanical hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to meet operational goals.
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin communication. (Mandarin is a must)
  • Strong learning and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, stackers, slings, and hoists.
  • Skilled in operating PLC or CNC machines.
  • Analytical thinking and continuous improvement mindset.
