Overview
We're looking for a midsenior TechOps Engineer to support and operate our production systems, applications, internal tools, and operational environments. This role covers deep application troubleshooting, internal IT/ops tasks, performance optimisation, environment management, monitoring, patching, and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations across the company.
You'll work closely with engineering, cloud/infra, product, and support teams to keep our platforms stable, secure, and performant.
Key Responsibilities
Application & Platform Support
- Troubleshoot production issues, API errors, backend failures, and integration problems.
- Perform log analysis, tracing, diagnostics, and root-cause investigations.
- Support deployments, configuration updates, and release validations.
- Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and manage incidents with proper escalation.
- Maintain strong documentation for runbooks, SOPs, and operational guides.
TechOps & Infrastructure Operations
- Manage internal IT tools, email, user access, and endpoint support where needed.
- Handle onboarding/offboarding processes, device provisioning, and IT hygiene.
- Coordinate with cloud/infra/security teams for patching, resource utilisation, and security updates.
- Maintain monitoring dashboards and participate in on-call rotations.
- Ensure systems follow operational best practices, including backups, patching, and security updates.
Database & Performance Operations
- Run routine operational tasks such as backups, restores, maintenance jobs and housekeeping.
- Optimise slow queries, analyse execution plans, and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Apply patches, updates, and configuration optimisations following internal standards.
- Support schema changes, migrations, and environment preparations.
- Proactively monitor database health, performance metrics, and anomalies.
Requirements (MidSenior Level)
Technical Skills
- Strong SQL knowledge (query optimisation, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis).
- Solid experience troubleshooting backend applications, logs, APIs, and services.
- Comfortable with Linux environments, scripting, system monitoring, and debugging.
- Exposure to environment stabilization.
Experience
- 48 years in TechOps, DBA, Application Support, Platform Operations, or relevant engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience supporting production systems and distributed services.
- Strong understanding of incident response, change control, and operational best practices.
Soft Skills
- Calm under pressure with a structured approach to troubleshooting.
- Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset with good documentation habits.
- Ability to prioritise issues and work across multiple teams.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in fintech or payment systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiar with cloud or on-prem operations (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, or equivalent).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Elastic, Cloud dashboards).
- Knowledge of automation tools or scripting for operational tasks.
- Basic understanding of networking, security principles, and IAM.
