Position: Technical Proposal Senior Engineer/ Engineer

Functional Group: Business Development

Base location: Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia

Travel: Occasional short business trips per job requirement.

Role Overview:

The Technical Proposal Senior Engineer/ Engineer's key role requires to support diligently Business Development teams in preparing the technical proposal in delivering turnkey EPCC, Electro-Mechanical equipment packages, Process and Environmental Analytical Systems, Multi-Energy Decarbonised Power Generation facilities bids, participate in the research and innovation of new ideas and emerging technologies.

Requirements / Pre-requisite:

Education:

-Degree in Mechanical/ Process Engineering or relevant qualification.

Experience:

-More than 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role with comparable responsibilities.

Technical Knowledge:

-Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and 2D/3D drafting software. Hands-on knowledge and experience with mechanical components such as valves, pipes and fittings, as well as electrical equipment, cables, instrumentation, and process control systems.

-Strong familiarity with international codes, standards, and recommended practices (e.g. ASME, API, EN, DNVGL, ISO, BS, etc.).

-Solid experience in applications involving compressible and non-compressible process flow, heat transfer, and static and dynamic analysis.

-Experience using engineering software such as HYSYS, TEMA, and HTRI is an added advantage.

Interpersonal Skills:

-Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams.

-Strong written and spoken English skills to communicate effectively with domestic and overseas manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers (Vendors).

-Chinese language skills is an added advantage for smooth communication with Hong Kong and Mainland China vendors and clients.

Responsibilities:

Core Engineering Responsibilities

Design and develop comprehensive Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and all associated process specifications and calculation worksheets.

Conduct detailed engineering calculations for line sizing, equipment sizing, relief sizing, pressure drop analysis, and both static and dynamic systems.

Prepare accurate technical datasheets, basic specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOM) to facilitate robust cost estimations and vendor quotation submissions.

Provide prompt technical responses, develop conceptual designs, and ensure the complete engineering documentation required by tender specifications is delivered on schedule.

Strategic & Commercial Responsibilities

Deliver profitable, optimised engineering solutions and support effective project implementation strategies.

Utilise Fit-for-Purpose design principles to ensure cost competitiveness without compromising system reliability and safety standards.

Implement value engineering strategies in material and component selection to optimise overall engineering solutions and proposals.

Drive the integration of Green technologies, such as carbon capture or renewable energy interfaces, into all tender proposals.

Plan and conduct essential technical discussions with clients and vendors, ensuring all deliverables align precisely with the Master Project Schedule.
