Technical Reviewer - Sustainable Palm Oil (SPO)

To provide SPO technical support to all SPO operating offices within BSI Group

  • To monitor and maintain SPO compliance of all SPO operating offices within BSI Group

  • To promote BSI product offering and solution to clients with the view of improving their business performance and managing risks

  • Conduct technical/certification review for SPO schemes (RSPO and MSPO)

  • Assist operations and technical and compliance to maintain accreditation and certification processes

  • Ensure compliance of scheme requirements throughout the business and countries within BSI Group are aware of the updates and revisions of requirements, regulatory framework and assessment and certification practices

  • Review changes of BSI operations and/or accreditation and revise respective procedure s and documentation to ensure accreditation requirements are met.

  • Assist to manage non-conformities raised by Accreditation bodies

  • Assist to determine the needs and conducting of witness assessment on all SPO assessors

  • Assist to determine the needs of training of all BSI SPO assessors

  • Monitor and maintain records of all SPO assessors compliances to the SPO requirements and BSI's operating procedures

  • Actively engage with SPO coordinators, Customer Service Officer (CSO)/Planner and other countries Program Managers for any planning, scheduling, report monitoring and reviewing and calibration meetings

  • Assist at country level Internal Audit and Management Review arrangements

  • Maintain overall account responsibility and accountability for nominated accounts to ensure an effective partnership, whilst ensuring excellent service delivery and account growth.

  • Provide accurate and prompt information to support services, working closely with them to ensure that client records are up to date and complete and that all other internal information requirements are met.

  • Coach colleagues as appropriate especially where those members are inexperienced assessors or unfamiliar with clients business/technology and assist in the induction and coaching of new colleagues as requested

  • Plan/schedule workloads to make best use of own time and maximize revenue-earning activity.

  • Build great relationships, learn about their business and products and with your audits allowing them to achieve the state of enhanced and sustainable for SPO schemes

  • Support operational and management of scheme in relation to technical requirements from time-to-time and when in need.

  • Ensure audit reports demonstrate accuracy, completeness, clarity, and consistency, and are supported by sufficient and appropriate objective evidence

  • Verify that RSPO and MSPO standards are interpreted and applied accurately and consistently

  • Ensure consistency and alignment between audit reports and the RSPO and MSPO Information System (e.g. PRISMA and eMSPO), including accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of submitted data

  • Review the adequacy and justification of nonconformities, including:

    • appropriateness of classification

    • adequacy of root cause analysis

    • effectiveness of corrective action plans

    • validity and sufficiency of closure evidence

  • Verify that audit conclusions and certification recommendations are justified, consistent, and made in accordance with applicable procedures and decision-making requirements, including appeals where applicable

  • Ensure that all audit activities and outputs comply with RSPO Certification System and MSPO Certification Scheme Document requirements and applicable Accreditation Body requirements

  • Identify and flag technical gaps, inconsistencies, or risks that may impact certification integrity prior to certification decision

  • Prevent progression of incomplete, inconsistent, or non-compliant audit reports to the certification decision stage

  • Maintain independence and impartiality in the technical review process, including not participating in audits being reviewed and declaring any conflict of interest
