Job Purpose

As a sales executive in Air Products, you are expected to drive business growth by identifying and developing new customer accounts, managing existing relationships, and delivering technical and commercial solutions for industrial gas applications across various sectors including electronics, metal fabrication, food, petrochemical, oil & gas and etc. by providing engineeringbased application insights and valueadded solutions. The role is based in Shah Alam and supports the Central East region, with additional engagements across Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve assigned revenue and margin targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into long-term contract customers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, technical consultation, proposal development, contract negotiation and postsales support including payment followup.
  • Provide technical application support, working closely with engineering and operations teams to address customer requirements and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and long-term contracts tailored to customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and reports for management review.
  • Conduct regular site visits and build strong customer relationships.
  • Support product launches and participate in marketing and training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal safety, quality, and operational standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or related).
  • Minimum 5 years of B2B technical sales or business development in industrial gases, OEM/equipment makers, or heavy industry.
  • Experience delivering technical application support or engineeringbased solution selling.
  • Strong ability to understand industrial processes and recommend suitable technical solutions.
  • Proven hunter profile with experience in new customer acquisition and market development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools/SAP is an advantage.
  • Willing to travel extensively within the assigned region and across Malaysia.
