Position Summary

  • The Orientation Technical Trainer manages the orientation program for new employees at UCTM. This role designs, delivers, and continuously enhances training programs that familiarize employees with company processes, safety standards, technical systems, and operational best practices, ensuring new hires quickly gain the knowledge and confidence to contribute effectively in a highly technical, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Orientation Program Management
    • Coordinate new candidate list with HR Recruitment team and update both the hiring managers and panel trainers.
    • Develop and deliver structured orientation sessions for new employees, covering company culture, policies, and technical processes.
    • Coordinate with HR and department heads to align orientation content with organizational goals.
    • Ensure training materials are up-to-date and tailored to different roles (for both New Direct and Indirect staff).
    • Technical Training Delivery
      • Provide hands-on training on semiconductor manufacturing machines, tools, and safety protocols.
      • Demonstrate machine operation, troubleshooting basics, and preventive maintenance practices.
      • Use simulations, case studies, and practical exercises to enhance learning outcomes.
    • Curriculum Development
      • Design training modules, manuals, and multimedia resources for technical onboarding.
      • Incorporate industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices into training content.
      • Continuously assess and update training programs based on feedback and technological advancements.
    • Assessment & Reporting
      • Evaluate trainee performance through tests, practical demonstrations, and feedback sessions.
      • Maintain training records and report progress to management.
      • Recommend additional training or mentoring for employees requiring support.
    • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
      • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure training reflects real-world practices.
      • Gather feedback from trainees and managers to refine orientation programs.
      • Stay updated on semiconductor industry trends and integrate new knowledge into training.
    Qualifications

    • Proven experience (3–5 years) in technical training, preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
    • Strong knowledge of semiconductor machines, processes, and safety standards.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
    • Expert‑level ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, assembly prints, OMS, and product specifications.
    • Certification in training or instructional design from professional body, is a plus.

    Preferred Skills

    • Technical expertise in semiconductor equipment and processes.
    • Strong organizational and program management skills.
    • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
    • Proactive problem-solving and adaptability.
    • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
    • Experience with training software, LMS platforms, and digital learning tools.

    Physical Demands & Working Conditions

    • Ability to work in cleanroom environments.
    • Capable of handling additional tasks when required due to the dynamic business nature.
    • PPE required where applicable.
