Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
o Diagnose and rectify complex mechanical faults in various equipment, including pumps, valves, piping systems, rotating equipment (e.g., blowers, gearboxes, agitators), filtration systems, tanks, and material handling systems.
o Utilize mechanical test equipment, alignment tools, schematic diagrams, and technical manuals for effective fault isolation and resolution (e.g., vibration analysis, bearing checks, pressure testing).
2. Execution of Mechanical Services:
o Perform installation, modification, repair, overhaul, alignment, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and piping as per client requests and project specifications for non-contractual jobs.
o Ensure all mechanical installations and repairs adhere to engineering standards, client requirements, and established procedures (e.g., proper torque, alignment, leak testing).
3. Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure all mechanical work is conducted in strict adherence to Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) requirements, relevant industry safety standards, and company-specific safety procedures (e.g., Lock-Out/Tag-Out - LOTO, confined space entry, working at heights, hot work, lifting operations, pressure safety).
4. Quality Control & Workmanship:
o Conduct thorough testing and verification of completed mechanical work to confirm functionality, reliability, and compliance with standards.
5. Resource & Equipment Management:
o Manage and maintain mechanical tools, lifting equipment, and specialized instruments (e.g., alignment tools, hydraulic presses), ensuring they are in good working condition.
Qualifications:
· Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field from a recognized Malaysian institution.
· Relevant technical certifications (e.g., specific welding qualifications, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, rotating equipment maintenance, lifting supervisor) are highly advantageous.
Experience:
· Minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience in industrial mechanical systems, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance, preferably within the water treatment, process, or heavy industrial sectors.
· Experience specifically with non-contractual, ad-hoc service projects and client-facing roles is a strong advantage.
Working Conditions:
· May involve working in diverse industrial environments, including water treatment plants, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities.
· Requires significant physical ability to climb, lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces (with proper certification), and in various weather conditions.
· May be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends or public holidays, or be on-call for urgent mechanical issues.
