Job Summary
Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Quay Crane (QC)/ Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTG), ensuring the port equipment are available at optimal performance, cost effective and reliable.
Key Duties.
Routine Maintenance and Repair
- Perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on port equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic control systems of cranes and heavy lifting machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in port equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations.
Quality and Performance Monitoring
- Verify the quality of work performed by contractors and OEMs to ensure compliance with standards.
- Reduce unplanned maintenance by identifying corrective actions and root causes, applying appropriate technical solutions.
- Inspect and report any equipment abnormalities to the Team Leader or Planner during maintenance activities.
Equipment and Maintenance Management
- Highlight reconditioning requirements to the Team Leader when necessary.
- Maintain and manage personal tools and ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Administer preventive maintenance checklists and suggest improvements to work procedures and equipment reliability.
- Apply sound engineering knowledge and practical skills to improve technical performance and maintenance efficiency.
- Select and apply appropriate techniques, procedures, and engineering principles to perform assigned tasks safely and effectively.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Participate in improvement initiatives and maintenance-related projects as assigned.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time to support departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Possess a technical certificate SKM 3, DKM or diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Automotive / Electronic / Mechatronic or equivalent/ relevant experience.
- At least 1 - 3 years hands-on experience in industrial automotive maintenance operations.
- Knowledge in PLC, drive, hydraulic system, diesel engine or mechanical component alignment is an advantage.
- Require less supervision and performs well under pressure. Thinks creatively and finds innovative ways to produce results.
