Job Summary:
We are looking for a mid-level IT Project Manager with proven experience in managing application-related projects in the banking sector. The role involves leading the delivery of core banking enhancements, digital banking solutions, regulatory-driven applications, and integration projects. The candidate will oversee end-to-end project lifecycles, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage application development, enhancement, and integration projects across retail, corporate, treasury, risk, and compliance banking domains.
- Plan, execute, and monitor project activities following Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
- Work closely with business analysts to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with developers, testers, and business users to ensure timely delivery of application changes and new releases.
- Oversee SIT, UAT, and Regression Testing phases, including defect triage and resolution.
- Manage application-related change requests, patches, upgrades, and system integration with internal and third-party systems.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, cybersecurity, and banking regulatory requirements (e.g., BNM, AML/KYC, PCI-DSS).
- Track project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating when needed and ensuring mitigations are implemented.
- Liaise with vendors and system integrators to monitor deliverables, SLAs, and contracts.
- Provide regular project status reports, dashboards, and presentations to management and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior project coordinators or analysts in application delivery and project governance.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 37 years of IT project management or coordination experience, preferably in banking/financial services.
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management (SDLC) and project delivery methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with core banking applications, digital banking platforms, loan origination systems, payment systems, or compliance/regulatory applications.
- Knowledge of APIs, middleware, databases, and cloud-based applications is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Azure DevOps).
- Strong stakeholder management, vendor management, and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications (advantageous):
- PMP, PRINCE2, or CAPM (Project Management)
- Agile/Scrum Master or PMI-ACP
- ITIL Foundation (IT Service Management)
- Domain-specific certification (e.g., Certified Business Analysis Professional CBAP, or banking IT-related certifications)
