Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an experienced Facilities Control Engineer to join our team. As a Facilities Engineer at TI, you'll be directly responsible for building utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state of the art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI's manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.

Job Description:

Support facilities operations for TI's semiconductor manufacturing site as Wastewater & DIW Systems Owner with the following responsibilities:

  • Own and manage wastewater and DIW systems including:
  • Ultrafiltration (UF) systems
  • Coagulation and Flocculation systems
  • Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)
  • RO systems
  • Mixed Bed / EDI Systems
  • UV sterilization and polishing loops
  • Chemical dosing and neutralization systems
  • Monitor system performance including flow, pressure, conductivity, resistivity, pH, and TOC
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system upsets, excursions, and alarms quickly and accurately
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime, chemical consumption, and operating cost
  • Ensure effluent and DIW quality meet internal specs and Malaysian DOE regulatory standards
  • Design, specify, and manage capital/expense projects for system upgrades, membrane/resin replacement, and capacity expansion
  • Manage contractors and vendors for equipment servicing, chemical supply, and system audits
  • Develop, review, and maintain SOPs and PM schedules for owned systems
  • Coordinate with controls engineers on PLC/SCADA monitoring and automation of water systems
  • Manage technical, financial, and schedule aspects of utilities projects
  • Ensure all work complies with TI ESH standards, work permits, confined space permits, and chemical handling procedures
  • Support internal and external environmental audits and regulatory inspections
  • Manage CM's, PM's, and other work as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5 years or more experience with wastewater and DIW systems in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • UF and Coagulation/Flocculation processes
    • STP operations
    • RO, Mixed Bed, and EDI systems
    • Strong understanding of water chemistry, chemical dosing, and treatment process control
    • Strong understanding of semiconductor utilities requirements and water quality specifications
    • Familiarity with instruments used: flow meters, conductivity/resistivity meters, pH/ORP sensors, pressure transmitters
    • Working knowledge of PLC/SCADA-monitored systems
    • Experience managing projects from scope through commissioning
    • Knowledge of Malaysian environmental regulations
Skills / Certifications:

  • Certified Environmental Professional preferred
  • Prior experience in a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing facility strongly preferred
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Communicates effectively verbally and written in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Demonstrate leadership and project management skills, including organizational, time management and priority setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and AutoCAD
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive for results
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong safety leadership
  • Independent, self-motivated, and ambitious of unquestionable personal professional integrity
