Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

We're seeking an exceptional UX/UI Designer to join our team and transform how our internal operations teams interact with critical banking tools and processes. This unique role combines traditional user experience design with deep operational understanding, requiring someone who can navigate the complex world of corporate banking while delivering intuitive, efficient solutions for our internal users.

You'll be responsible for mapping and reimagining internal user journeys, conducting research with operations teams to understand their daily challenges, and designing solutions that streamline workflows and improve productivity. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on operational efficiency while working with cutting-edge financial technology in a collaborative, remote-first environment.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in UX/UI design principles combined with experience in fintech or corporate banking environments. You understand the unique challenges of designing for financial services operations and can balance regulatory requirements with user needs to create exceptional internal tools and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of our platforms, operations, and business priorities
  • Go deep in researching and understanding client-facing touchpoints and internal processes as well as our platform services, products and users, in close collaboration with our client research and insights team
  • Produce high-quality UX designs that help translate complex banking workflows into client-friendly experiences that are based on client research and user testing data
  • Create high fidelity prototypes using UI components from our component library
  • Present these prototypes to senior leaders and be able to communicate clearly about the process and reasoning that went into the design
  • Pro-actively engage stakeholders and collaboration partners to understand the products and business context, and to help them get onboard with your design solution proposals
  • Continuously engage our team and our stakeholders to stay on top of your work and keep your momentum going

Our team services the entire Corporate and Institutional Banking domain. This includes corporate banking and trading platforms, API developer platforms, and internal employee productivity tools and services. Your focus will be on internal operations services and platforms, this means designing for platforms that enable corporate banking services and support teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience driving projects from initiation to delivery, defining the business value gained with the program and utilising this with stakeholders for buy-in.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in producing UX and UI design, including interactive prototypes using Figma
  • You are familiar with design systems and applying them to your designs
  • You are responsible in owning a project, starting with user research to design and design quality assurance during development
  • Experience working at financial institutions, including fintechs, would be desirable
  • Education equivalent to a BS in information science, human/computer interaction, web development, computer science, UX and UI design, psychology, business, or other equivalent discipline.
  • You understand human centred design methodologies and user research
  • Working knowledge of enterprise project methodology, and capable of working with IT to manage business and technical requirements for documentation
  • You also understand global diversity and the ability to advise on solutions that suit all.
  • You have the ability and desire to keep challenging yourself and others with entrepreneurial attitude and passion for observing human behaviour, identifying team biases and surfacing these with grit.
  • You work smart, are flexible and skilled in establishing practical processes.
  • You have experience working on Information architecture and interaction design
  • Experience in Agile and/or LEAN projects
  • Good stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Expert level capability in Figma
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • You love to take ownership, see your projects through to launch and keep an eye on them afterwards, always on the lookout for improvement.
