Job Summary:
To lead the detailed engineering design, procurement, and pre-commissioning activities for offshore topsides platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either Process Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering, with proven experience in delivering complex offshore oil & gas projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering & Design
- Lead and manage detailed design engineering for topsides facilities, ensuring technical integrity and compliance with project requirements.
- Oversee multi-discipline engineering teams (Process, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet standards and project specifications.
- Review and approve key engineering documents, calculations, and drawings.
Procurement Support
- Provide technical input for procurement activities, including preparation and review of technical specifications, bid evaluation and vendor selection and technical clarifications with suppliers
- Ensure equipment and materials comply with project standards and specifications.
Pre-Commissioning & Project Execution
- Support and oversee pre-commissioning activities for topsides systems.
- Ensure readiness of systems for commissioning and startup.
- Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams to resolve technical issues.
Project Management & Coordination
- Act as the focal point for topsides engineering within the project team.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to project schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (for Process background), or Instrumentation / Control Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas industry, with strong exposure to offshore topsides projects and proven experience in detailed engineering design
- Solid understanding of pre-commissioning and commissioning processes
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (API, IEC, ISO, etc.)
- Fluent in English and French
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
