Rekarancang combines rigorous planning analysis with practical implementation, ensuring that plans are clear, actionable, and aligned with statutory planning requirements. The firm works closely with government agencies, local authorities, developers, and communities, with particular expertise in urban regeneration, regional planning frameworks, and development advisory.

Role Description

Rekarancang is seeking an experienced Town Planner with strong expertise in planning permission (Kebenaran Merancang KM) preparation and submission.

This role is based in Kuala Lumpur, with a hybrid work arrangement. The Town Planner will play a key role in preparing statutory planning submissions, coordinating with local authorities, and supporting development proposals through the planning approval process.

The position requires a planner who is familiar with Malaysian planning regulations and is able to manage documentation, technical requirements, and submission processes with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate Kebenaran Merancang (KM) submissions and statutory planning documentation
  • Liaise with local authorities, agencies, and consultants throughout the planning approval process
  • Prepare planning reports, planning statements, and development proposal reports (LCP / DPR)
  • Ensure compliance with Act 172, local plans, planning guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Support feasibility assessments and planning strategy for development proposals
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and environmental consultants
  • Prepare planning presentations and assist in stakeholder discussions where required

Qualifications

  • Degree or Master's in Urban Planning, Town Planning, Geography, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience in statutory planning practice, particularly KM preparation and submission
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian planning regulations, Act 172, and local authority approval processes
  • Experience preparing planning reports and statutory submission documentation
  • Familiarity with GIS, planning analysis, and development feasibility assessment
  • Strong communication and coordination skills when dealing with authorities and project teams
