About Orissa International

Orissa International (www.orissa-international.com) is a market entry consultancy specialising in international business development and export promotion. Established in 1997, we are headquartered in Singapore, with offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

We work with companies across diverse industries, helping them explore new markets or expand their presence in Southeast Asia. More than 20 government export agencies from North America, Europe, and Asia partner with us to support their companies market entry into the region. We are a part of the Intralink Group, an international business development consultancy with 150 staff across 20 locations on three continents.

The Role

We are seeking a Trade and Research Consultant to join our Kuala Lumpur team on a three-month project with Orissa International. The role will involve conducting market research, supporting lead generation, and assisting clients with their market entry strategies. A full-time position may be offered after the three-month period, depending on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research on various sectors within Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian region.
  • Prepare business news, research reports, and market studies.
  • Perform cold outreach to key industry players to establish initial contact and build professional relationships.
  • Maintain and update a database of market intelligence and industry contacts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in market research or a related field.
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with a strong command of the English language.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an international and culturally diverse setting.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
