Trade Finance, Assistant Manager (Maritime/Trading)
Our client is a well-established international business with operations across multiple regions, and is looking to hire a Trade Finance & Treasury professional to support their commercial and treasury activities from Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end execution of trade finance transactions, ensuring timely processing and settlement of commercial activities.
- Administer and monitor trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), Bank Guarantees, documentary collections and trade loans.
- Review and coordinate shipping, trade and banking documentation to ensure compliance with contractual and financing requirements.
- Liaise closely with commercial, operations, legal, counterparties and banking partners to facilitate smooth transaction execution.
- Manage daily treasury operations including cash positioning, liquidity monitoring, funding requirements and payment execution.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and support working capital management across the business.
- Monitor utilisation of banking facilities and ensure compliance with internal controls and financing arrangements.
- Act as a key point of contact for relationship banks on operational matters, account maintenance, KYC reviews and facility documentation.
- Support the renewal and administration of trade finance and banking facilities.
- Assist with foreign exchange settlements and treasury-related transactions where required.
- Support external audits, internal reporting and treasury governance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and operational efficiency across trade finance and treasury activities.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
- Approximately 5-8 years of relevant experience within trade finance, treasury or banking operations.
- Prior experience within a commodity trading, shipping, logistics or asset-intensive business environment is a requirement.
- Strong understanding of trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, documentary collections and trade loans.
- Experience working directly with banks and managing banking relationships.
- Good understanding of cash management, liquidity planning and treasury operations.
- Familiarity with international trade settlement processes and working capital financing structures.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
