Hands-on experience with TMS platforms such as FarEye or similar, with involvement in system implementation and rollout (not just as an end user).
Strong capability in analysing, planning, and optimising transportation routes using TMS tools, with solid understanding of route efficiency, road limitations, and operational constraints.
Good knowledge of transportation cost structures, including fixed costs, variable costs, and key cost drivers. Able to monitor transport spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Experience in evaluating CapEx and OpEx-related projects, with the ability to develop forecasting models and financial analysis for management decision-making.
Ability to identify hidden or last-mile costs that impact delivery efficiency, and proactively recommend improvements to reduce overall transportation expenses.
Skilled in data analysis and reporting, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
Involved in budget planning, database management, and process improvement initiatives, including supporting training and development of team members.
Capable of cost comparison and feasibility analysis between outsourced (3PL) transportation and in-house fleet operations.
Responsible for assessing current transport systems, identifying strengths and weaknesses, conducting risk assessments, and implementing effective solutions.
Oversee the performance, development, and continuous improvement of transportation operations to enhance efficiency, service level, and cost-effectiveness in line with business targets.
Requirements
Proven ability to analyse, plan, and optimize international transportation routes. Must be familiar with route efficiency, road restrictions, and navigating logistics constraints to ensure timely delivery.
Hands-on experience using TMS to monitor performance, maintain databases, and track transport data for real-time decision-making.
Deep understanding of fixed costs, variable costs, and cost drivers. Ability to identify hidden costs in the final leg of delivery and implement strategies for cost reduction.
Experienced in analysing new projects related to Capital and Operational Expenditure and providing data-driven forecasting for management review.
Capable of conducting data comparisons to determine the cost-effectiveness of using 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) versus maintaining an in-house fleet.
Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments of transport systems and identify strengths or weaknesses to maximize performance and profitability.
