Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Travel and Tourism Tutor role based in Kuala Lumpur. The tutor will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons on travel and tourism topics, ensuring content is accurate, current, and relevant to industry standards. Daily responsibilities include developing lesson plans, preparing teaching materials, assessing student progress through assignments and tests, and providing constructive feedback. The tutor will incorporate real-world case studies, role-plays, and industry scenarios to build practical skills in areas such as customer service, itinerary planning, hospitality basics, and tourism operations. The role also involves maintaining accurate student records, participating in academic meetings, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, and supporting student engagement and motivation in a multicultural classroom.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of travel, tourism, and hospitality concepts, including industry operations, customer service, and destination awareness.
- Proven teaching, training, or tutoring experience, preferably in travel, tourism, or related vocational/tertiary programs.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners with different proficiency levels.
- Lesson planning and classroom management skills, with experience designing engaging, learner-centered activities.
- Comfort with using digital tools and basic educational technology (e.g., presentation software, learning platforms, online resources).
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to grading, record-keeping, and meeting academic timelines.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with colleagues on curriculum development and continuous improvement.
- Diploma or degree in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Education, or a related field; relevant industry certifications are an advantage.
- Prior professional experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry is highly beneficial.
- Cultural sensitivity and a student-focused approach, with the ability to support and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
