About Job:

The Senior Cost Control Engineer is responsible for the management and reporting of all costs and revenues of project he/she has been allocated.

The Cost Control & Risk Engineer also proactively supports the Project Manager in protecting and improving project objectives and margins through anticipation and de-risking. The role assists in monitoring all project risks (Health, Safety, Environment, Security, Technology, Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance, etc.). Additionally, the Cost Control & Risk Engineer is responsible for implementing Risk Management processes and governance during both proposal and project execution, and is directly involved in the production of all qualitative and quantitative (cost and schedule) risk management deliverables.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing the initial project budget and forecast based on the handover bid from the Proposal/Estimating Department.
  • Responsible for updating forecasts based on changes and inputs received from Project Management and other project team members, as applicable.
  • Responsible for preparing the monthly Project Cost Report and Project Management Report.
  • Prepare monthly invoices for the Client and follow up on related activities, including reimbursable items.
  • Evaluate the economic impact of changes and variations in the scope of work.
  • Perform economic analyses, forecasts, variance reports, and other cost control activities.
  • Update cash flow forecasts.
  • Support the identification of threats and opportunities and develop mitigation plans.
  • Increase awareness of the Cost Control function across other departments.
  • Review project commitments.
  • Assist the Procurement team with invoice reviews and processing for subcontractors and suppliers.

Key Tasks

The Cost Controller is required to develop and maintain the following reporting requirements:

  • Manpower forecasting
  • Construction and procurement forecasting
  • Budget transfer and variation order register
  • Budget variance tracking and formalization
  • Cost sensitivity analysis
  • Cash flow forecasting and monitoring
  • Internal and external reporting requirements management

About you:

· Degree in Engineering/Finance or equivalent

· 7 to 10 years of experience in related field

· Experience in EPCC projects is an added advantage.

· Knowledge of cost control tools and methodologies

· Solid analytical and problem solving skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.

· Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.

· Ability to deal effectively with deadlines.

· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
