The successful candidate will be based at the Cybersecurity Research Centre (CYRES), Universiti Sains Malaysia. This position entails a broad spectrum of academic and professional responsibilities, including delivering high-quality teaching, conducting impactful and innovative research, supervising postgraduate researchers, performing administrative duties, and fostering strong engagement with industry partners and the broader community. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the advancement of cybersecurity education and research at a national and global level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching in cybersecurity at various academic levels.
- Develop and lead innovative research projects in cybersecurity, resulting in high-quality publications.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research and academic pursuits.
- Contribute to the administrative functions of the department and university.
- Actively participate in cybersecurity services offered to industry, including consulting and commercialization initiatives.
- Engage in service activities that benefit the university and the broader community.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have at least five (5) publications in Q1/Q2 indexed journals (WOS) as Corresponding Author/First Author.
- Teaching experience of at least one (1) semester/industry experience of at least two (2) years.
Additional Criteria
- Thorough knowledge of contemporary theories, methods, and research in Cybersecurity.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a) A Scopus h-index greater than 10; b) A recognized professional certification (e.g., Ir., Ts., etc.); c) Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, etc.
- Candidates with relevant industrial experience in cybersecurity or related domains will be prioritized.
