We are seeking a Vice President, Finance to serve as the CFO's deputy and a key member of the Group's senior leadership team within a well-established manufacturing organisation in Penang. This high-impact role will lead Group finance across reporting & consolidation, treasury, tax, insurance, Finance Shared Services and the Finance Centre of Excellence, while partnering closely with the CFO on corporate exercises, sustainability governance, enterprise risk management and strategic finance initiatives. The opportunity offers broad Group-level exposure, significant leadership scope and the chance to shape the continued evolution of the Finance function.
Responsibilities
- Act as the CFO's second-in-command and deputy, providing leadership continuity across the Finance Department.
- Lead the preparation and review of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee Bursa Malaysia announcements, annual reports and other statutory or regulatory financial filings.
- Ensure compliance with MFRS, IFRS, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and the Companies Act.
- Oversee Group liquidity, cash flow, funding, banking facilities and foreign exchange exposure.
- Oversee corporate income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing and other applicable tax matters across the Group.
- Oversee the Group insurance programme, including coverage adequacy, renewals and claims.
- Provide strategic oversight of Finance Shared Services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury operations.
- Lead the Finance Centre of Excellence in standardising finance policies, processes and operating practices across the Group.
- Assist the CFO with mergers and acquisitions, divestments, restructuring, fund-raising and other corporate exercises.
- Support the CFO in sustainability governance, performance monitoring and disclosures relating to financial implications.
- Lead, coach and develop finance leaders and teams, building succession depth across the supervised functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or a recognised professional qualification such as CA(M), ACCA or CPA. Must be an MIA member or eligible to apply for MIA membership.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple finance functions within a sizeable, complex or listed group.
- Strong track record in Group financial reporting and consolidation, with in-depth knowledge of MFRS/IFRS, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and the Companies Act.
- Broad practical experience across treasury, tax compliance and planning, Group insurance, financial controls, audit and finance-related enterprise risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead Finance Shared Services and a Finance Centre of Excellence, including process standardisation, finance transformation, systems implementation, automation and analytics.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, divestments, restructuring, fund-raising or other corporate exercises.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills, with the credibility to engage the Board, senior management, auditors, bankers, regulators and professional advisers.
- Willing and able to travel overseas as required to support the Group's operations, corporate exercises and strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in other languages relevant to the Group's operations is an advantage.
