Job Description

1 Job Purpose:

To lead Alliance Islamic Banking (AIS) operations and digital enablement functions by overseeing system integration, as well as digital and operational support. The role ensures process efficiency and regulatory compliance through close coordination with internal and external stakeholders, enabling seamless execution and operational readiness across AIS.

2 Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end deployment, integration, and readiness of AIS systems and digital initiatives, ensuring compliance and alignment with business needs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders—including IT, vendors, and business teams—to manage system requirements, SIT, and UAT for seamless delivery.
  • Lead daily operational functions to uphold service quality, process integrity, and adherence to regulatory, Shariah, and internal control standards.
  • Drive continuous operational and system improvements by resolving control gaps, managing risk, and ensuring audit-aligned execution.
  • Any other tasks which deemed suitable and relevant as per mandated by the management.

3 Required Competencies:

a) Experience

Minimum 15 years of working experience with 5-10 years in banking / digital banking / fintech operations or technology roles

• Prior experience in Islamic banking is an added advantage

• Experience in conceptualizing, managing and successfully implementing IT strategies from start to finish

• Strong exposure to core banking integration, digital channels, cloud platforms and APIs

• Proven track record in large scale system operations or digital transformation

b) Skills

Technical:

• Digital banking platforms and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)

• Data, AI, automation & monitoring tools

• Strong understanding of BNM regulatory technology expectations

• Strong project management skills.

Soft:

• Strong management and leadership skills within a corporate environment.

• Competent in strategic orientation with a strong sense of business awareness.

• Ability to work well with others and motivate people

• Ability to coach and mentor team members

• Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills

c) Knowledge

• Strong grasp of theory and application of Islamic financing structures applied in the market

• BNM rules and regulations on Islamic financing

• Ability to manage human teams and AI enabled digital co workers

• Bridge traditional banking governance with agile digital execution

• Strategic, innovative and customer centric mindset

• Strong stakeholder influence across Business, Risk, Compliance and Regulators
