We are seeking a motivated intern to support our AI-based vision inspection system development. The intern will assist in setting up jigs for training, contribute to inspection coding, and help ensure high-quality datasets and training runs. This role is ideal for students with an interest in computer vision, machine learning, or industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities
Data Annotation & Labeling:
- Categorize and mask defects (scratches, cracks, missing parts) within the AISSENS environment.
- Ensure high-fidelity ground truth data for model training.
Dataset Management
- Curate and balance Good vs. NG (No Good) image sets.
- Maintain objectivity and prevent bias toward healthy samples.
Training Parameter Monitoring
- Track real-time training telemetry and progress.
- Flag system hangs or hardware crashes promptly to minimize downtime.
Version Documentation
- Log hyperparameter settings and dataset iterations.
- Maintain organized records to enable seamless resumption, auditing, or rollback of training runs.
Optional (Training Provided)
- Image Pre-processing: Calibrate lighting setups and adjust exposure/gain using Baumer Camera Explorer.
- Result Interpretation: Evaluate Precision/Recall metrics to identify false positives or missed defects.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields preferably with exposure to research, lab work, or academic projects in machine learning or computer vision.
- Basic knowledge of Python or similar programming languages (experience with vision libraries such as OpenCV is a plus).
- Interest in machine learning, computer vision, or industrial automation.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
