Hands-on leadership role overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations and logistics movement, including the flow of goods from receiving, storing and distributing process by using systems like SAP & WMS and managing 3PL (SFI), transporters with full accountability for people, performance, safety, and cost control.
This role ensures efficient storage, inventory accuracy, timely distribution, drives process improvements, cost optimization, and fosters a high-performance team environment to support business objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Warehouse Management
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing and delivery.
- Plan and implement efficient warehouse procedures and layouts to maximize space utilization and streamline processes.
- Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space, proper stock rotation, and timely replenishment between two warehouses for daily order fulfilment.
- Supervise receiving and storage of finished goods in Taiping warehouse facilities and inventory accuracy.
- Assess and manage manpower and material-handling equipment to enhance productivity.
- Implement best practices and utilize the system (ie: SAP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)) to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Coordinate market return and disposal processes for expired/damaged stock, ensuring warehouse hygiene and compliance.
- Develop and manage warehouse budgets, ensuring efficiency and monitor the monthly expenses.
- Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Logistics Management
- Develop and implement cost effective logistics strategies and optimal Route-To-Market blueprint to improve delivery lead time and reduce costs.
- Oversee logistics and distribution to the retailers to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of products for both warehouses.
- Manage and monitor third-party logistics (3PL) providers through regular performance reviews to ensure service excellence.
- Manage transporter relationships, including involvement in RFI/RFQ processes and contract negotiations to secure competitive terms.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, supply planning) to resolve operational issues promptly and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Lead, coach and mentor the logistics team to address daily operational challenges and achieve performance objectives.
Inventory Management and Control
- Implement inventory control measures to prevent shortages, overstock, and discrepancies.
- Reconcile the inventory record for both WMS & SAP system for both warehouses on monthly basis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records across warehouses and storage locations.
- Conduct periodic inventory checks, cycle counts, and audits to drive high inventory accuracy aligned with business objectives.
- Champion the bi-yearly stock take process and complete the stock reconciliation with variance findings.
- Utilize the WMS FEFO system for stock movement and ensure healthy inventory aging.
- Support the NPD launch by arranging the sample stock for QC inspection and stock transfer.
- Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor warehouse repackaging stock, and disposal processes to improve efficiency and minimize losses.
Operational Excellence & Cost Management
- Analyze warehouse and logistics performance data and generate actionable reports.
- Manage and reconcile the pallet transactions to ensure high pallet accuracy.
- Establish and monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, order fulfillment, and transporter delivery performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and eliminate nonvalue-added activities.
- Develop and manage warehouse and logistics budgets, monitor the monthly expenses and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising service quality.
People & Stakeholder Management
- Planning for supply chain flexibility leads to a fundamental re-thinking in the way that to jointly address capability gaps and help mitigate supply chain risks.
- Provide team leadership and coaching by creating an environment oriented towards trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
- Establish departmental KPIs and performance management frameworks.
- Plan manpower and training need to build a high-performing team.
- Collaborate with production, sales, finance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
- Provide regular updates on warehouse and logistics performance and operational risks.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or other related courses
Experience
Minimum 8 years in warehouse and logistics leadership roles, ideally within a multinational environment. Proven track record as a Warehouse and Logistics Manager or similar role, with strong knowledge of supply chain principles and systems (ERP, WMS, 3PL).
Skills
- Computer literate and advance in Excel
- Experience and knowledge in ERP planning system (ie: WMS, SAP)
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and customs clearance processes.
- Meticulous and detail oriented.
- Ability to analyse complex situations, make effective decisions, and think creatively and strategically in a fast-paced environment.
