Location: Senai, Johor Bahru
We are hiring a commercially driven Operations Manager to lead multi-client warehouse operations within a 3PL environment. This role is accountable for service delivery excellence, site profitability, and operational scalability across diverse customer contracts.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience in managing complex 3PL operations, balancing customer SLAs, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Site Operations & SLA Delivery
- Lead day-to-day operations across inbound, outbound, inventory control, and returns within a multi-client warehouse.
- Ensure strict adherence to customer SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations (e.g., OTIF, order accuracy, turnaround time).
- Manage resource allocation across multiple accounts to balance fluctuating volumes and priorities.
- Drive operational discipline through WMS (e.g., SAP, Manhattan, Oracle) and standardized workflows.
2. Commercial & P&L Accountability
- Own full site P&L, including cost management, margin improvement, and productivity optimization.
- Partner with Senior Site Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Monitor revenue vs cost by customer account; identify margin leakage and recovery actions.
- Lead contract reviews, renewals, and repricing discussions with customers.
- Support commercial teams in RFQs, solution design, and costing for new business.
3. Customer Management (3PL Focus)
- Act as the primary escalation point for key customer accounts.
- Conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews (MBRs/QBRs) with customers.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through proactive issue resolution and performance transparency.
- Identify opportunities for value-added services (VAS), upselling, and contract expansion.
4. People & Workforce Leadership
- Lead large, shift-based operations teams including supervisors and frontline workforce.
- Drive productivity metrics (e.g., UPH, cost per order, labor utilization).
- Build strong succession pipelines and reduce attrition in a competitive Johor labor market.
- Ensure workforce capability through structured onboarding, SOP training, and certification.
5. Continuous Improvement & Automation
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to improve throughput and reduce waste.
- Drive adoption of automation solutions (e.g., sortation, scanning, RF systems).
- Optimize layout, process flow, and labor planning to support scalability during peak volumes.
- Track and improve key KPIs including productivity, accuracy, and cost per unit.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, 3PL safety standards, and global EHS frameworks.
- Lead site audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Promote a strong safety-first culture, aligned with MNC logistics standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in contract logistics / 3PL, with at least 3–5 years managing high-tech / electronics accounts.
- Proven track record in managing multi-client warehouse operations with full accountability for service delivery and performance.
- Strong experience handling high-value, sensitive inventory with strict requirements on accuracy, traceability (serial / batch control), and zero-defect execution.
- Demonstrated P&L ownership, including budgeting, cost control, and margin improvement.
- Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as SAP, Manhattan, or Oracle.
- Strong knowledge of SLA/KPI management (e.g., OTIF, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, productivity metrics).
- Experience leading large, shift-based operations teams, with strong capability in coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, process optimization).
- Strong customer management and stakeholder engagement skills, including handling escalations and conducting business reviews.
- Familiarity with Johor logistics and high-tech ecosystem
