Role Overview
We're looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to support ongoing development, optimization, and troubleshooting across a portfolio of complex WordPress websites.
This is a contract-based role, working closely with our internal team as an integrated contributor. You'll be involved in day-to-day delivery, collaborating across functions, and helping us maintain a high standard of execution.
What You'll Be Doing
- Execute scoped development tasks across multiple WordPress sites
- Build and extend custom themes, plugins, and blocks
- Troubleshoot complex issues across performance, integrations, and functionality
- Optimize sites for Core Web Vitals and overall performance
- Translate Figma designs into production-ready WordPress implementations
- Collaborate closely with account managers and other developers
What You'll Need To Succeed
Core Requirements
- Strong experience with WordPress (custom themes, plugins, block editor)
- Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (React and/or jQuery), HTML, and Sass
- Experience with WooCommerce and complex plugin ecosystems
- Strong debugging and problem-solving ability
- Experience working with Git-based workflows
Communication (Required)
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in a remote, async-first environment
- Comfortable participating in client-facing or internal discussions when needed
Technical Experience
- Performance optimization (Core Web Vitals)
- Familiarity with tools like Cloudflare, Nginx, MariaDB/MySQL, Redis
- Experience with build tools (NPM, Gulp, Webpack)
- Ability to work from Figma designs to production
Working Style
- Reliable, deadline-oriented execution
- Comfortable working across multiple tasks and priorities
- Able to collaborate as part of a distributed team
What Your Day Looks Like
- Working through 1–4 tasks per day depending on complexity
- Collaborating with team members across Slack, ClickUp, and Zoom
- Contributing to ongoing client work across a range of industries and use cases
- Solving technical challenges with a focus on quality and maintainability

Engagement & Compensation
- Contract-based engagement with consistent, ongoing work
