Malaysia’s Online Hiring Activity Continues to Slow Down

  • Online hiring activities in Malaysia witnessed a 24% decline year-over-year in June 2015, a slight decline from last month’s 23% drop
  • The BFSI industry continues to lead in online hiring for the third month at 5% year-over- year, while the IT, Telecom/ISP and BPO/ITES industry registers the steepest decline at -22% year-over-year
  • All job roles in Malaysia are still seeing negative year-over-year growth, with Finance & Accounts roles registering the least decline at -1%
  • Marketing & Communications roles saw the greatest improvement in online hiring. Although still in decline, these jobs rose from -18% year-over-year in May 2015 to -7% in June 2015
