TransPerfect Connect (TPC) is looking for highly fluent, professional bilingual speakers (English <> Mandarin) to join our team as Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreters (VRI). Key Responsibilities:

Provide consecutive interpretation services between English and Mandarin in medical, legal, customer service, and other industries
Ensure interpretation is accurate, clear, and neutralpreserving tone, intent, and emotion
Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality
Manage call flow with professionalism and respect, ensuring accuracy
Demonstrate emotional intelligence during high-pressure or sensitive interactions
Apply memory retention and active listening techniques for longer conversations
Stick to your role as an interpreterno personal opinions or advice
Participate in ongoing training and coaching to enhance your skills
Use basic computer tools (MS Office, internal platforms) to manage calls and log activity

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required); college education preferred
Fluency in English and Mandarin (proficiency or higher)
Ability to pass a language and interpreting skills assessment
Must provide your own equipment (computer, headset, high-speed internet) and pass a technical check to ensure compatibility with our remote platforms
Minimum 6 months of call center, customer service, or interpreting experience
Strong communication and ethical decision-making skills
Ability to handle fast-paced, emotionally complex situations
Comfortable with assertive communication and session control
Basic computer skills (typing, MS Office)
Quiet, distraction-free workspace

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in medical, legal, or community interpreting (strong plus)
Experience with remote work tools and platforms
