We are now looking for a Coating Process Engineer. This position will be located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia

What You Will Do

Support daily coating operations by monitoring and adjusting process parameters to ensure stable production and consistent product quality (adhesion, smoothness, coating weight, etc.)
Analyze process issues (defects, variability, waste) and contribute to root cause identification and resolution
Participate in industrial trials (new materials, process settings, product validation) and support implementation on production lines
Work closely with automation teams to improve process control and machine performance
Collaborate with maintenance to enhance equipment reliability and optimize machine settings
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Prepare and maintain technical documentation (process standards, work instructions, reports)
Support knowledge transfer and training of operators and technicians
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards at all times

Who You Are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or a related engineering discipline
You have 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in coating, converting, extrusion, or similar processes is an advantage but not mandatory
You have a basic understanding of automation and process control, including PLC, HMI, and industrial systems
You have strong analytical thinking with a structured approach to problem solving
You have a hands-on mindset and are willing to work close to the shopfloor and equipment
You have good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with production, maintenance, and automation teams
You are eager to learn and develop technical expertise in coating processes
You are able to work independently while also being a reliable team player
You have proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both spoken and written
