Responsibilities

Oversee daily engineering operations, ensuring all maintenance activities and work orders are completed and properly recorded
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes for all M&E systems, equipment, and facilities
Lead, supervise, and manage Engineering team members, including performance management, scheduling, and training
Monitor and ensure optimal operation of all plant, equipment, and building systems
Support energy conservation initiatives and monitor utility consumption to improve efficiency
Manage inventory, stock control, and ensure availability of engineering supplies
Drive cost control measures while maintaining operational efficiency and service standards
Plan and execute special projects, repairs, and improvement works as assigned
Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards
Lead and manage Fire & Life Safety (FLS) programmes, including inspections, maintenance, training, and emergency preparedness
Coordinate emergency response procedures and act as Emergency Response Team (ERT) leader when required
Maintain effective communication with all departments to support hotel operations
Prepare reports, maintenance plans, and updates for the Director of Engineering

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent)
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in hotel engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of building systems, M&E equipment, and hotel engineering operations
Experience in preventive maintenance planning and project management
Good understanding of Fire & Life Safety systems and regulatory compliance
Strong leadership and team management skills
Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Cost-conscious with knowledge of budgeting and inventory control
Familiar with safety regulations, environmental practices, and energy conservation
Flexible and able to respond to emergencies when required
