Job Overview:

The Subsea Engineering IT Tool Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing specialized engineering software and IT tools used in subsea and offshore projects. This role ensures seamless integration, user support, and compliance with company standards, enabling engineering teams to perform design and installation analysis efficiently.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Tool Administration & Maintenance

Install, configure, and maintain subsea engineering software (e.g., installation analysis tools, design packages).
Manage software licenses, updates, and ensure compliance with vendor agreements.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues related to engineering tools.

User Support & Training

Provide technical support to engineering teams for tool usage and problem resolution.
Develop and deliver training sessions for engineers on proprietary and industry-standard software.
Create and maintain user guides, FAQs, and best practice documentation.

Integration & Data Management

Ensure proper integration of engineering tools with project management systems and databases.
Manage data security, backups, and version control for engineering files and models.
Support workflows for data exchange between disciplines and external parties.

Process Improvement

Collaborate with engineering leads to identify tool enhancements and automation opportunities.
Participate in global initiatives for standardization of software and procedures.
Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of IT tool usage.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure adherence to company IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and legal requirements.
Support audits and verification processes related to software and data integrity.

Engineering Automation, Digitalization & Subsea Software

Develop/Support engineering automation tools, integrations, and digital workflows using Python, VBA, and low-code platforms.
Automate engineering tasks such as data processing, reporting, validation, and calculations.
Administer and enhance subsea/offshore engineering software including OrcaFlex, MCS Pipelay, Abaqus, ANSYS, SACS, MOSES, and related tools.
Transform manual engineering processes into standardized, user-friendly digital solutions.
Support AI-enabled engineering workflows, digital assistants, and productivity initiatives.
Contribute to digital transformation, workflow standardization, software governance, and knowledge management.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Experience with offshore/subsea engineering software such as OrcaFlex, Abaqus, ANSYS, SACS, MOSES, and automation tools.
Strong skills in Python, VBA, low-code/no-code platforms, and engineering workflow automation.
Ability to convert engineering processes into practical digital solutions and productivity tools.
Understanding offshore/subsea engineering practices, numerical analysis, and industry standards.
Exposure to AI-enabled engineering workflows, digital transformation, and knowledge management initiatives.
Knowledge of software governance, licensing, security, and engineering data management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, training, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in technical documentation, user support, and global engineering environments.
Research, innovation, publications, or patents related to engineering or digital technologies are an advantage.
