A0 / A1 Chargeman

About the Role

The AO / A1 Chargeman is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems within the facility. This role includes conducting and supervising electrical testing activities such as high-voltage (HV) testing, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and applicable standards.

Safety Responsibilities (VERY critical)

• Enforce strict HV safety procedures
• Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Ensure proper earthing before and after testing
• Use appropriate PPE (arc-rated, insulated gloves, etc.)
• Ensure test equipment is calibrated and certified
• Never allow unsafe energization of circuits

Electrical Operation & Maintenance Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain low-voltage (LV) electrical systems
• Perform switching, isolation, and restoration of electrical supply
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults and abnormalities

Requirements

• AO or A1 Chargeman Certificate
• Fresh graduate can apply
• Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, testing methods (megger, Hi-pot, continuity), and safety practices for HV systems
