Job Title: Accountant

It provides full engineering services—design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance—and operates across Southeast Asia, including projects in Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Position Summary

The Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the company's financial strategy. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead accounting processes that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the full set of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Analyze financial results against budgets and forecasts, and provide variance analysis with actionable insights
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with relevant departments
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, including preparation of detailed cash flow reports and projections
  • Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely collections and payments
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Support and coordinate internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules
  • Review journal entries, general ledger postings, and ensure proper documentation
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and internal controls
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff where applicable
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
