Your new role

Hays Sunway Malaysia looking for a Accounting Assistant to join our team. This is a full time permanent role. This role focuses on assisting with the functions of accounts payable, bank transactions, and account receivables for Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia & Thailand) to ensure timely preparation of reporting and other ad hoc duties as required in assisting the Management Accounts.

Main responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and ensure expenses are accurate and submitted on time
  • Reconcile month-end balance sheets and ensure correct coding of expenses
  • Communicate professionally with employees and suppliers regarding expenses
  • Load payments to the bank for approval and send remittance advice when needed
  • Generate reports as requested by the Accounting Manager or Senior Management
  • Process daily bank transactions and allocate funds in the system
  • Submit bank payments and perform regular bank reconciliations
  • Manage petty cash claims and perform regular counts
  • Support ad-hoc requests from Accounting Manager and Senior Management
  • Handle daily invoicing and ensure timely processing of placement invoices
  • Respond to revenue-related enquiries from other departments and management
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Prepare management reports and fee summaries
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time
  • Monitor cash balances and manage cash flow activities

What you'll need to succeed

  • High level of accuracy and speed in data processing
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ideally have knowledge of Dynamics GP
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
  • Supportive of corporate initiatives
  • Effectively work as part of a team to deliver objectives
