Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions for the company and its related entities.
- Manage and supervise the Accounts & Finance team to ensure smooth and accurate day-to-day operations.
- Review and oversee full set of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing process and ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor and review project accounting, including project costs, revenue, billing, WIP and project profitability.
- Oversee project costing and cost control, including monitoring actual costs against budgets and identifying significant variances.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow projections, working capital and payment schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and financial analysis to support management decision-making.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate recording of construction/project-related transactions.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables, and work closely with relevant departments to improve cash flow and collection.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers and other external parties on finance and accounting matters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax requirements and statutory regulations.
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures and financial processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to Management on project performance, cost management and overall financial performance.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties or ad-hoc projects as assigned by Management.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA / MIA / CPA is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, with experience in a Managerial / supervisory capacity.
- Prior experience in the Construction / Property Development industry is highly preferred.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
- Proven ability to lead, supervise and develop an accounting team.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of accounting standards, tax and statutory requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
