About the Client

Our client is a well-established Malaysian law firm with a strong presence across multiple locations including Ipoh, Taiping, Kuala Kangsar, Seri Manjung, and Petaling Jaya. Recognised as one of the Top 50 legal firms in Malaysia, the firm is committed to delivering excellence across property, corporate, and litigation matters.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the firm's financial operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, managing budgeting processes, and supporting strategic business growth. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on accounting expertise with strong leadership and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and day-to-day accounting functions
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations; coordinate internal and external audits
  • Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial controls; improve processes and internal controls as needed
  • Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, statutory requirements, and audit processes
  • Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of CoreMatter (accounting module) is an advantage but not mandatory – training will be provided
  • Prior experience in a law firm or real estate legal department is preferred
  • Proficiency in Mandarin / Chinese is an advantage
