We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Accountant AR. This full-time and permanent position offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Finance Operation and its growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Create, manage or review the end-to-end billing process to ensure timely and accurate invoice generation.
- Monitor billing KPIs and drive improvements in billing cycle time and accuracy.
- Oversee daily cash application activities, ensuring payments are accurately matched to customer invoices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal customer queries regarding billing and accounts receivable, build strong relationships with internal sales and client management teams
- Take ownership of key AR closing activities, including preparing relevant reconciliations and schedules.
- Reconcile bank statements (AR related items) and AR sub-ledger accounts promptly
- Accurately apply IFRS 15 principles for revenue recognition across various service as per contract - amortization schedules.
- Prepare and post complex journal entries related to deferred revenue, accrued revenue, and contract liabilities etc.
- Maintain robust documentation and audit trails for all revenue-related calculations and decisions.
- This role requires commitment to working overtime during month-end closing and peak seasons to meet deadlines.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and service metrics.
- Any other ad-hoc duties or trainings to the team
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is required as this role manages a China portfolio and involves regular communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and review of Chinese documentation
- A consistent and proven focus on accuracy in all tasks, especially in data entry and financial reporting.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in revenue recognition, billing, cash application, or accounts receivable.
- Ability to organise and prioritize work with minimum supervision
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong understanding of billing processes, cash application workflows, and financial controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and resolve issues.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to drive process improvements and support change management initiatives.
