An opportunity is available for an Actuarial Analyst to support the actuarial function in delivering accurate and timely valuation of Takaful liabilities, in compliance with Risk-Based Capital Takaful (RBCT) requirements for submission to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). The role involves producing regular valuation and management reports, performing actuarial calculations and analyses, supporting regulatory reporting, and providing guidance to junior team members, while ensuring the quality and integrity of actuarial models and outputs.
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline, or holds a relevant professional qualification.
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in actuarial valuation work.
- Responsible for producing accurate and timely annual, quarterly, and monthly valuation returns for submission to BNM, including data validation, review of valuation outputs, assessment of product or system changes, support in assumption and model impact analysis, and first-level review of actuarial programmes and spreadsheets.
- Responsible for producing accurate and timely monthly valuation results for management reporting, including supervising junior staff in planning and setting up valuation runs, coordinating inputs from relevant departments, and analyzing and investigating valuation results.
- Perform best-estimate cash flow projections for budget purposes, including proposing approaches for new products where required, compiling projections into budget templates, reviewing and validating results, and maintaining proper documentation.
- Provide timely and accurate cash flow projections to support budgeting and planning.
- Provide technical support on actuarial matters, both routine and ad hoc, including Takaful system testing, preparation of the Financial Condition Report (FCR) and other actuarial reports, participation in projects such as IFRS 17, system migration, surplus distribution to policyholders, and ad hoc actuarial analyses.
