Actuarial Analyst, Family Actuarial Product Support

Job Description

• To provide actuarial product and system support functions related to individual and group family takaful products to support business goals and growth.
• To provide actuarial product support on individual and group family takaful products. Retrieve the supporting information/ working files and perform the appropriate analysis to service requests from business units on contribution calculation, cash/ fund/ account values or other benefits. Perform benefits projection for individual and group Family Takaful Operation to fulfil enquiries from the customers or Bank Negara complaint cases.
• Prepare contribution and/ or benefits calculator that can be used as a tool by individual and group Family Takaful Operations to facilitate their work. Prepare relevant information upon request from internal/external auditors.
• Refer to line manager for works that requires further review and/or for decision making.
• To prepare test scripts, MS Excel Marketing Illustration (MI) file and perform testing in Visual Product Modeling System (VPMS) and various front end systems. Develop and prepare test scripts to ensure the user input validations for the MI and the MI output from VP/MS and other front end systems is in good order.
• Test the front end system to ensure the calculations generated are the same or within acceptable tolerance limit as compared to system requirements file or other supporting documents provided by pricing team.
• To process and suggest system solutions or raise CR/URF based on new system requirements and participate in UATs. Analyze new system requirements and assist with system implementation.
• Preparing and testing of system rates upload in all individual and group family takaful administration systems (includes new products implementation, CR, IFRS17 related functionalities and yearly declaration of profit rate/ surplus etcetera)
• Coaching Junior Staffs/Interns. To provide guidance and on-the-job training. Review the tasks performed are of acceptable quality and delivery in timely manner and to assess the work performance.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar course of study.
• Some progress in professional actuarial examinations is an added advantage.
• Fresh graduate or some experience in actuarial technical system support for family takaful products in both the front and back end system implementation.
• Good working knowledge of individual & group family takaful products.
• Proficient in Excel VBA & relevant tools for processing large volume of data
• Good communication & inter-personal skill and analytical & meticulous
