About the Job

This role provides support to the Head of Actuarial of Great Eastern Life Labuan in driving key business initiatives, integrating insights from across the Company and contributing to strategic decisions, while continuously learning, adapting and taking on opportunities to broaden business understanding.

  • Proactively collaborate with stakeholders across Product Pricing, Strategy, Business Finance, Corporate Treasury, In-Force & Capital Management and others to identify and implement levers to optimize company performance.
  • Work closely with the Regional Service Centre to ensure deliverables are completed timely, efficiently, at high quality and with sound basis.
  • Take accountability for GELL's financial management, which includes profitability analysis (e.g. NPAT, EV, NBEV, NB CSM), preparation of Actuarial Valuation Report, RBC, among others.
  • Support the annual actuarial assumption setting, business planning and KPI forecast analysis for GELL, including providing timely updates to stakeholders, identifying risk areas and recommending appropriate mitigation actions to support sustainable growth.
  • Assist in monitoring the Company's ALM and liquidity to ensure healthy cash flow, compliance with the Risk Appetite statement and optimize capital efficiency.
  • Analyze the source of profit and movements in solvency, and communicate the key insights to the relevant stakeholders
  • Assist in preparing presentations for the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
  • Support the running of working group meetings (e.g. Business Review, Outsourcing Review, Asset Liability Review, etc) with the Principal Officer and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the process, governance and control in the Actuarial Department.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and Labuan regulatory requirements
  • Assist Management with any other assignments as needed

We are looking for people with

  • Tertiary Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science / Statistics / Mathematics.
  • Ideally minimum 5 years of relevant experience in actuarial related works or financial planning & analysis.
  • Nearly Fellowship member of an internationally recognized actuarial professional body and is committed to attain Fellowship.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication capabilities and good business acumen.
  • Shows genuine curiousity in understanding how things work and take accountability of works
  • Show strong willingness in taking on broader responsibilities and able to adapt well in a dynamic environment
