Job Description

We are seeking a commercially driven, strategic, and execution-focused leader to expand Alipay+ strategic partnerships in Malaysia and drive business growth. This role will be responsble for the end-to-end lifecycle—from origination and deal structuring to commercialization and scaling—across digital wallets, banks and payment platforms.

1. Business Development & Growth

  • Own Partner Expansion Plan End-to-end: From sourcing and pipeline management to commercial negotiation and launch. Identify, originate, and close high-impact partnerships with top banks, digital wallets, and payment players.
  • Onboarding & Enablement: Lead seamless partner onboarding and go-live execution by orchestrating cross-functional teams (Compliance, Legal, Ops, Product, Tech). Act as the primary point of accountability to drive milestones, unblock integrations, and ensure launch readiness.
  • TPV Growth & Partner Activation: Drive Total Payment Volume (TPV) growth, collaborate with Growth and Marketing to execute targeted activation initiatives to unlock incremental volume.

2. Strategic Account Management & Partner Performance

  • Build and maintain key relationships across partner organizations to drive long-term strategic alignment and joint business planning.
  • Identify use case expansion opportunities, develop and execute account plans to upsell and cross-sell solutions.
  • Manage partner relationships and performance by tracking key metrics to drive ongoing optimization and growth.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Lead cross-functional coordination across Product, Tech, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Growth and Marketing teams.
  • Influence and align multiple stakeholders on internal priorities, partner status, risks, and opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 7–10+ years of experience in Business development, partnerships or commercial roles preferably in digital payments or fintech
  • Experience managing both new business acquisition and existing accounts
  • Strong execution, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with high independence, ownership, and accountability
  • Strong commercial acumen, influencing skills and negotiation capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in cross-border payments, digital payments or market expansion roles
  • Proven track record of closing high-value deals and driving measurable revenue growth
  • Existing strong network within Malaysian financial institutions, including banks and e-wallets
  • Exposure to multi-market partnerships or experience leading complex, cross-functional projects is a plus
  • Strong executive presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders
