Safety Manager / Safety Officer

• Lead HIRARC/HIRADC evaluations and review high-risk Method Statements, Job Safety Analyses, and Permits-To-Work.
• Perform continuous site walk-throughs, enforce safety rules, and exercise authority to issue Stop-Work Orders for unsafe acts or conditions.
• Form and lead the mandatory Site Safety & Health Committee, manage monthly meetings, and maintain statutory documentation.
• Lead root-cause accident investigations, implement corrective actions, and submit legal notices (JKKP 6, 7, and 8) to DOSH within set deadlines.
• Conduct compulsory site safety inductions, run Tool-Box Talks, coordinate emergency drills, and drive site safety awareness.
• Serve as the main point of contact for DOSH, CIDB, DOE, and local councils, while overseeing statutory machinery certifications
  

• Conduct continuous daily site inspections to immediately halt and fix unsafe work practices, temporary works issues, or dangerous conditions.
• Inspect and monitor subcontractor work activities to ensure strict adherence to site safety rules, Method Statements, and Permits-to-Work.
• Lead daily or pre-task Toolbox Talks with site workers and sub-contractors before work begins.
• Liaise directly with subcontractor safety supervisors to manage overlapping task risks.
• Maintain daily safety logs, document hazards found/rectified, and prepare weekly safety reports for management review.
• Assist the Safety Officer and Project Manager in conducting initial incident investigations and executing immediate corrective action.
  

• Oversee and audit the execution of the site Environmental Management Plan and Erosion & Sediment Control Plan, including silt traps, wash troughs, and discharge points.
• Supervise proper site handling, temporary storage, labeling, and electronic reporting of scheduled waste for disposal via DOE-licensed contractors.
• Coordinate regular sampling and monitoring for water quality, ambient air quality, noise, and vibration levels with accredited laboratory testing parties.
• Perform daily site walk-throughs to detect environmental risks and issue internal non-conformance notices.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Department of Environment, Department of Irrigation & Drainage, and local municipal councils during site inspections and audits.
• Lead immediate containment actions for environmental incidents (e.g., chemical spills, silt discharges into public drains) and compile monthly environmental performance reports for submission to management and regulators.
  

• Degree / Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or relevant
• Yellow book / Green book certificate is a MUST for safety officer and supervisor
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction industry
• Have experience doing data centers / high rise / infrastructure / industrial / high rise / commercial
• Proficient in Mandarin is an ADDED ADVANTAGE to liaise with China contractors and stakeholders
• Open to relocate / travel for work
