We are looking for an Analyst to join our growing investment team. 

This is a role for those who are passionate about investing, curious about what makes great businesses tick, and excited to be part of building a next-generation private equity firm in Malaysia. 

You'll work across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and due diligence to deal execution and portfolio value creation. You'll be given real responsibility, early exposure, and the opportunity to help shape the future of private equity in Malaysia. 

What You'll Be Doing 

Deal Sourcing & Execution 

• Research industries, analyse market trends, and develop investment theses 
• Evaluate investment opportunities and build financial models 
• Support due diligence across commercial, financial, and legal workstreams 
• Prepare Investment Committee memos and presentation materials 

Portfolio Management 

• Support portfolio companies on strategic, operational, and analytical projects 
• Work closely with founders and management teams to unlock growth opportunities 

Firm Building 

• Contribute to internal projects including reporting, investor communications, and knowledge building 
• Play a role in building Newmoon Capital's institutional capabilities as we grow 

Who Are We Looking For

Background 

• 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate finance, or a similar analytical role 
• Minimum CGPA of 3.50 or First Class Honours degree (or equivalent). 
• CFA candidates or charterholders preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in Malaysia; Malaysian citizens or candidates with a valid Employment Pass are preferred

Skills and Attributes 

• Strong financial modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
• Ability to distil complex information clearly and succinctly 
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines 
• Self-starter with high ownership, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative mindset 
• Passion for the Malaysian business landscape and entrepreneurial ecosystem
