About the role:

The Merchant Operations Assistant is responsible for supporting merchants through standardized processes, onboarding assistance, and daily operational support to ensure smooth business operations. This role requires effective coordination with internal teams to resolve challenges, maintain service quality, and improve workflow. It is well-suited for detail-oriented individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to delivering excellent merchant experiences.

Job Location in Kuala Lumpur, on site, full-time (9am 6pm) and with an offer of up to 5800MYR (depending on experience)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • SOP Execution & Standardized Support:

Implement daily standardized operational processes to ensure service consistency and quality.

  • Merchant Onboarding Support:

Assist merchants with standard onboarding, system configuration and amendments.

Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Risk, Compliance, IT) to resolve activation challenges and blockers.

  • Daily Merchant Support:

Handle merchant inquiries and provide timely responses and solutions.

Assist merchants with onboarding issues, plugin installation and respond to merchant emails.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration:

Work closely with Account Management, Risk, Pricing teams to resolve issues and drive workflow improvements.

Escalate non-standard or complex inquiries to AMs (Account Managers) for further handling.

About you:

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsible, and service-minded, with strong communication and coordination skills to support merchants effectively. They should be proactive in managing daily operations, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and capable of collaborating across teams to resolve issues efficiently. A background in operations support or customer service, along with proficiency in Excel and CRM tools, will help them succeed in this role.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree or above in any discipline (Preferable: Business Administration, Finance, or commerce related majors).

13 years of experience in operations support, customer service or a related field preferred.

Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Proficiency in office tools (e.g., Excel, CRM systems) with basic data processing and documentation skills.

Detail-oriented, responsible and service-minded, with strong execution ability.

Language requirement: Proficiency in English (additional Mandarian reading and speaking is a plus).
